LINEAR SYSTEM - DESIGN GUIDELINES:
DETERMINE LIGHT LEVEL:
  • Medium cove counter top: - 10 watts per ft
  • Bright cove or counter top: - 20 watts per ft.
  • Display Lighting: 20 ~ 50 watts per ft.
TOTAL THE RUN OF THE LENGTH:
  • 20 ft. max guideline for working with 12V
  • 35 ft. max guidelines for working with 24V
    (Run length, is the distance from the transformer to the last light*)
TOTAL THE WATTAGE:
  • 240W max. if working with 12V
  • 480W max. if working with 24V
TRANSFORMER CHOICES:
  • Surface Mount:
    Electronic 60 or 150 Watt
    (Small, quite, well suited for small runs)
  • Remote: Electronic or magnetic.
    Choose magnetic for larger capacities or to minimize voltage drop.
MOUNTING OPTIONS: Track mounts to surfaces with screws, or may be placed in a rigid aluminum carrier for cable suspension or wall mounting.
TIPS:
  • Tracks are supplied with one end cap.
  • A live end is always the means of powering track.
  • *Definition of a "run" is a live end & track section.
  • All switching is on primary side of transformer.
  • Magnetic transformers require magnetic dimmers.
  • Electronic transformers require electronic dimmers.
  • Use 12 Awg. wire minimum. Standard wire is best.
  • Remember, the low voltage LINEAR SYSTEM has a capacity of 240 watts on a 12 volt system or 480 watts on a 24 volt system
  • The surface mount transformers are the best option for powering smaller runs where the load is 150 watts or less.
  • The small size and easy installation of these transformers is best in cabinets and other low profile installations.
  • Each Quick Connect element requires a matching SADP LINEAR SYSTEM Quick Connect adapter.
Supplied with one (1) matching end cap and mounting hardware.
