  • Hello. I am interested in purchasing this light fixture, but I am confused about the base. Can you explain to me what a "candelabra base" is? How does it compare to a low voltage halogen lamp that needs the additional purchase of a canopy? What kind of lightbulb would I use in it? Can I attach this light to a dimmer? As you can see, this is the first time I've ever shopped for pendant lighting. I really appreciate your help!

    Candelabra base refers to the socket type, the size of the screw in base. As an example, old X-Mas lights that went along the roof top were candelabra base bulbs. Candelabra bulbs is not a low voltage bulb, rather, it is a candle shaped bulb that typically installed into a regular line voltage fixture. As for the canopy, it is included with the pendant light. This fixture can be connected to an incandescent standard dimmer that has at least the capacity of the total wattage of light being applied to that dimmer. For example, if you are going to install 4 pendants at 40w each, you will need your dimmer to be at least 160W. Therefore, you need a dimmer that is at least 200W or more so as to not short circuit the lights/dimmer.
