Questions and Answers

  • Regarding the above lamp, I want to hang in my front (outside) portico. The existing lamp is connected to the ceiling of the portico with the chain and electric wire. there are three other chains that hang from the ceiling and connect to the top of the existing lamp...to hold it steady when there are strong winds. How can I get extra chains for the above product so that I can install it in the same way?

    You may purchase additional chain for QZ-NY1179B and it is sold in increments of 4 feet. Please note that the maximum amount of chain that can be used with the fixture would be an overall length of 12 feet, and the fixture automatically comes with 8 feet of chain.

  • Dimensions for fixture reads as 21" H X 12.5"W. Do those dimensions include the ceiling plate or does it cover the fixture alone? I have a total length of 25.5" before the door would interfere. Would this fixture be suitable or do I have to go with the NY1978B? Those dimensions read as 19.5"H X 9.5"W. Same question would apply to this fixture.

    I contacted the manufacturer Quoizel Lighting and they informed me the following information: Item QZ-NY1179B is 21" from the ring right before the chain starts to the bottom of the fixture. Item provided with 8ft of adjustable chain and the canopy (ceiling plate) is 5" in diameter and roughly around you want to keep in mind the depth of the canopy is roughly around 2". Since you also have to keep into account the chain links even at the shortest length it might be cutting it a bit close if you say you only have 25.5" above your doorway. Normally for outdoor hanging lanterns you don't want to have them hanging too low above your doorway they always look a lot nicer when it is not hanging too low. The other fixture QZ-MY1178B is also provided with 8ft of chain and has the same information apply on the mounting plate. Both fixtures are currently in stock.
