The Bay Scallop Shell Doorbell Ringer was designed by Michael Healy, an accomplished Rhode Island artisan. Michael grew up on Cape Cod and has happy memories of his youth spent scalloping on Cape Cod Bay. You would have to sort through many a bushel to find a shell as pristine as your Scallop Doorbell Ringer. The Scallop Doorbell Ringer is cast in solid brass. It was hand-crafted using the age old art of foundry casting. During the process molten brass is heated to over 2000°F then carefully poured into a handmade sand mold. This mold is used only once, giving this Doorbell Ringer its individual character. The Scallop Doorbell Ringer was hand polished and coated with a clear lacquer to protect its original polished finish. It is signed in the mold by the artist, Michael Healy, confirming it's authentic and quality craftsmanship. Compatible with all wired doorbells. Mounting hardware included.
