  • I am not familiar with the term 'downlight'. Does the Lite Source BASIC Torchiere Lamp - LS-80910-PB illuminate toward the ceiling or not? Also, can you tell me what is the cage type fixture coming out of the top of the torchiere lamp?

    Lite Source 80910-PB is a torchiere so there is "no" downlight on this lamp. It will only illuminate towards the ceiling. The "cage" on the top is a heat guard; in case, if the torchiere tips over, the "cage" will prevent the hot halogen in contact with any object (such as a curtain), which might be a fire hazard.
