We moved into a new house that had no ceiling fixtures, just the wiring and metal disks over the holes. I needed something for the Master Bedroom that met the following requirements:
*Ceiling fan....We live in the mountains & don't have AC.
*Go with a somewhat rustic decor (the doors, cabinetry, window frames, baseboards, etc in this house are all knotted wood)
*Not TOO rustic...this isn't a cabin or hunting lodge
*Had a similar or matching ceiling fixture for the attached office/sitting room.
*Black or oil-rubbed bronze finish
I looked and looked. It was really hard. Just when I had given up hope, I found this. It is practically perfect & really beautiful! It is completely silent on the low and medium settings, although on high, it makes a ticking-like noise from the movement/vibration. It comes with a remote control and remote control holder. The holder can be attached to the wall so you can use the remote as a "wall switch."
One downside is that this fixture does not give off much light. It is not very bright. It uses small bulbs and the room is dim. Still, given the options available I would order it again because it is beautiful and, except for the dimness, just what I was looking for. Also, I wish it came with 2 remotes so we could mount one at each doorway, or so that both my husband and myself could have one at our night stand.
Nevertheless, This is a great, quality fixture that would go with a variety of furnishing styles.
