Unfortunately, we have been advised that the base height of this floor lamp is not able to be shortened. The swing arm (elbow can be brought up and down to your preferred height, however the 62 inches remains the same (this is the measurement from the top of the lamp shade to the floor when standing straight up).Nov 16, 2011
