I have a question regarding the Craftmade Outdoor Direct Burial Lamp Post model (CM-Z8994). I need to have the post installed on the floor of my deck/porch. I was thinking of using this post and buying a pier mount to attach to the porch floor. The pier mount is only 3.5" tall. Would that provide enough support for the post? What about wind?Mar 22, 2007
You will not be able to use a post with a pier mount because of the difference in diameters and because the weight of the post is much too heavy to be supported by a pier mount. What you would need to do is look into purchasing a pad mount, which is a post that is supported by a base.Apr 04, 2007
