Q & A of the Day

  • What is the appropriate height for a hanging lamp to hang when it centered above a table? Should the chain be quite long? How far from the surface of the table should it hang? Thanks. Betsy B.M.

Hi Betsy, The standard mounting height is 30-36" above the countertop, or table. As far as the chain is concerned, people like to minimize exposure of the chain, and some people like to drape it for effect, but that is of course personal preference.
