Transitional Table Lamps

Design Tips:

  • Consider the tasks that you’ll be performing when using a transitional table lamp so you can choose the proper lamp size, type of shade and bulb wattage.
  • Keep the size of the room in mind when decorating with a transitional table lamp. It’s best to decorate with a larger lamp in a large room and with a smaller lamp in a small room to keep a balanced look and feel.
Transitional table lamps are designed to suit a wide range of interior styles, from transitional to traditional. Transitional table lamps provide additional light in a specific area as well as task lighting for most any activity. This type of table lamp, which generally combines curves with angular lines, may help to enhance the look of any room as it creates a look that’s stylish yet simple and understated.

Transitional table lamps are available in a multitude of types, materials and finishes. Styles include those made of ceramic, crystal, glass and metal. Different types are accent lamps, buffet lamps and clip-on lamps. You’ll find transitional table lamps that are available in different finishes, including black, antique, brass, bronze, brushed steel, gold, nickel, oak, pewter, rust, silver, white and chrome. Transitional table lamps are also available in a variety of heights ranging from eight inches to over 30 inches. Moreover, you’ll find a myriad of shades in different sizes, shapes, colors and materials, including linen, frosted glass, agate stones or mica glass.

You’ll find dozens of different applications for transitional table lamps. They may be used in most any setting, from offices to homes. Transitional table lamps may be used in most any room, such as in your living room, bedroom, dining room or hallway. Place a transitional table lamp on a table on each side of a sofa in the living room or on a night table on each side of a bed in a bedroom. A transitional table lamp may also be placed on a desk in a child’s bedroom to help with homework. Decorate with a lamp or two on the buffet table in a dining room or on a table in the hallway. Use one transitional table lamp for an asymmetrical look or decorate with two identical, transitional table lamps for a symmetrical look.

You’ll find hundreds of different kinds of transitional table lamps to choose from. Finding the one that’s perfect for you may often be difficult. However, Arcadian Home makes it easy by providing you with only the best manufacturers of transitional table lamps, including Cyan Design, Dimond Lighting, Kenroy, Lite Source, Uttermost, Murray Feiss and Trans Globe Lighting.

You can’t help but notice the Kichler Lighting ColorBlock Transitional Table Lamp in the picture on the left. This 25.5-inch-tall transitional table lamp features a stunning, porcelain frame hand-painted in muted, earth tones which perfectly complement the tapered, light caramel-colored, hard-back shade. It sits on a table next to a large sofa in a room with transitional interiors. This is a fantastic example of an asymmetrical design, wherein beside the upholstered arm chair, you’ll find the use of a floor lamp in the same Kichler Lighting ColorBlock family. Moreover, take note of how the room the use of other accessories in the same family, including the three ColorBlock vases, decorative tray and rectangular mirror, creates a room with a balanced look and feel.

Q & A of the Day

  • Where is the switch? Will this work with the new bulbs available?
    Elaine Aug 03, 2013
Hello Elaine, Item KR-20962BS has a switch near the socket base. This lamp uses (1) 150W maximum medium base socket 3-way type "A" bulb. You can most likely substitute a compact fluorescent light bulb but the manufacturer has not tested this product with LED light bulbs and they do not recommend placing them in the lamp.
