Transitional Floor Lamps

Design Tips:

  • When choosing a floor lamp, pay attention to the overall height of the lamp and how it will relate to the furniture in the room.
  • Use a floor lamp as a bedside light if there is not enough room for a nightstand and table lamp.
  • Coordinate lamp shades on different lamps and lighting within the room for a polished look.
For versatile lighting in the home, transitional style is a good choice as it works with so many interior and furniture styles. These transitional floor lamps can work in homes, hotels, offices and other professional settings. Used for reading, ambient light, task lighting and room brightening, transitional floor lamps make a lighting statement that changes the look and feel of a space. Pair a transitional floor lamp with transitional ceiling lights or chandeliers as well as transitional table lamps for a well designed lighting profile in the space. Overhead lighting, table level lights and floor lamps create zones of lighting for different activities and functions within the room.

The beauty of transitional floor lamps is that the combine the best of traditional and modern design styles. Transitional floor lamps can be found in a number of finishes, including chrome, nickel, bronze and brass as well as painted metal. These floor lamps can have fabric, glass, metal or acrylic shades. Transitional styles include reading lamps, torchiere style, swing arm adjustable floor lamps and many more. Transitional floor lamps are versatile enough to work in almost any interior style space.

For lighting in living rooms, family rooms, home offices, hotels, and offices, transitional floor lamps provide both ambient and task lighting. Uplight floor lamps like transitional torchieres can brighten a room by washing the ceiling or wall in light. Transitional reading lamps and floor lamps can create lighting in seating areas as well as in dark corners and spaces that are too small or narrow for a table and lamp set up.

Q & A of the Day

  • Can the height and width-2 places be adjusted?
    jeff Jan 14, 2013
I contacted Kenroy Home in regards to item KR-32119-BS and they confirmed that the fixture can not be adjusted in height. Only the lamp shade has a swivel above the socket that allows you to tilt it or move from side to side but the poll height itself is stationary.

New Customer Review

Love this design

This is a very attractive dual purpose lamp. Need to carry parts for broken glass, if possible. We hit it with a swivel rocker and broke the glass already :-(
