Q & A of the Day

  • I hope this is not a really stupid question. I just received the Meyda Tiffany Decatur 5 Light Chandelier # MD69095. It is a bit shiny for my taste, but I think I can live with it. Perhaps I should have gotten something in a pewter finish. Anyway, for packing purposes all the fixture heads are horizontal facing, whereas in the photo , they are all facing upwards. Do I need to take this apart and turn the light sockets, or do I force them into the correct position by just turning them. I do not want to damage this in any way, and destroy the threading by turning them, if I am not supposed to. Thanks for your assistance.

Hello Kenneth, We apologize for not getting back to sooner. We understand your trepidation and appreciate the care that you're taking with your fixture. I've consulted with some techs at Meyda Tiffany and per their instruction sheet ( http://www.meyda.com/Instructions/69095.pdf ) they advise that it is perfectly fine to gently turn them into the facing upright position. They didn't recommend clockwise or counter-clockwise but they did assure me that it is more than OK to turn them yourself. Their tech department can be reached at 800-222-4009 if you would like to speak with them directly and we are always available here should you need anything else. Best, Elizabeth x509
