    Hello Karen, The back plate dimensions for the MX-40207-WG-ET are 4 7/8 inches wide and 13 3/8 inches high. Unfortunately, Maxim does not have the scroll to back plate distance.

MX3002CLWT post light

The unit can only be installed with a 3" post or a flat base. It cannot be installed on 4" x 4" post because there is no available base to fit the post, where there is more application.Arcadia should develop a 4" post adapter base. My client was delighted with the product. Thank you.
