Directional Recessed Lights

Design Tips:

  • Be aware of where you place the fixtures. Recessed lighting fixtures are not meant to be placed too close together. Rather than providing necessary lighting, it can look awkward and attract unwanted attention.
  • Depending on the size of your fixtures, you can determine the distance between them. A good rule of thumb is that 4-inch fixtures should generally be placed at least 4 feet apart. You do not want to place them any less than 2 feet apart.
  • Align recessed lighting in front of what you are wanting to light and place about 12 -18 inches in front.
  • Spotlight recessed light eyeball fixtures are great for accent lighting and can create a unique spotlight illumination over the object.
  • Recessed wall washer fixtures provide a broad light over a large area.

  • LED retrofits:It would be optimal for a space to implement LED lighting when building the infrastructure but even if that has not been done, there is an optimal way to still receive the benefits of LED lighting. LED retrofits are becoming a rising trend as they offer immediate advantages. It does not require a change in the infrastructure and although the upfront cost can be large, the payoff is greater. Retrofits are both energy efficient and last much longer than traditional incandescent or even fluorescent lighting.

    Hello Leslie, Item WAC-MT-116TL is a spotlight that goes installed in your ceiling for new construction projects only; with it you would have to purchase a housing unit. Your answer would depend on how high your ceilings are and what you were intending to illuminate with the light source.

6" line voltage gimbal ring

I was extremely disappointed in the product. I guess, not the product so much as the company itself. The company sent out a replacement ring that was not even what I ordered w/o consulting me first and then you have to go through a middle man to get them to contact the company about getting someone else to contact you through and e-mail, not by phone. It took a few days for that to happen and then I felt like the rep wasn't following how I wanted things to go for the return. Very frustrating by e-mail. I gave my phone number and asked that somebody call so I can explain over the phone. I felt that I shouldn't have had to pay for return shipping due to the fact that what I recieved was not what I ordered. After several days of not hearing from anyone I finally got an e-mail with a return label to download to return the pkg. Customer svc. was horrible. And how dare the company send something else that I didn't order and without my consent!! All and all I did not have a good experience and would not have more reason to do business with Arcadia in the future!!
