  • We have this Designers Fountain Motion Detectors Outdoor Wall Sconce - DF-2420MD-AG but need to know if an LED bulb can be used as opposed to an incandescent.

    Please be advised that a LED may NOT replace an incandescent bulb. The LED "bulbs" are actually circuit boards or drivers and are NOT replaceable. When it comes time to replace an LED bulb, you will actually need to replace the whole fixture.

Long-awaited post lantern fits the bill

This lantern is just what I wanted. It's sturdy, standing on two arms where most of this style have one. I don't have to disassemble it to change the bulb, yet the bulb is well-sheltered from the elements. The style suits my house and looks like it will age well. It seems sturdy so far (only had it a couple weeks now), was straight-forward to install, and was affordable. Plus it's dark-sky compliant. Useful tip: The Maxim Lighting Post Mount with the Empire Bronze (item: MX-2000, finish: EB) is a great color match, if you need such a mount. Designers Fountain doesn't offer one. The only two drawbacks were as follow: 1) Not made in U.S. 2) Product seems to be chronically backordered. I waited over three months for mine to arrive from the manufacturer. This is no complaint about Arcadian Lighting. This lantern was backordered at every site I found it listed. If Designers Fountain could fix its supply-side slow-down(s), I'm sure it would find a lot more happy customers. If they're having trouble with production in China (where these are made) or in shipping/customs, maybe they could insource those manufacturing jobs.
