Cal Lighting BO-635 is a hard wired fixture, meaning there is no plug. However, some electricians will splice the wire and connect it to a plug in order to make it into a plug in fixture. The only potential problem with this is that if anything goes wrong with the fixture, the manufacturer would not cover it under the one year warranty as it would therefore be a "modified" fixture.Sep 23, 2009

Hello Carol, Item BO-635 has a shade with the following measurements: 4" top diameter, 8" height, and 12" bottom diameter. Fully extended from wall, the shade is 19 3/4" .Oct 23, 2012
