Capital Lighting Ansley Traditional Ceiling Decorative Medallion with 5? Opening
Question:
I would like to purchase a medallion for my ceiling but the cap of my lighting fixture on the ceiling is 5″ across. Your site says the hole in this Capital Lighting Ansley Traditional Ceiling Medallion – CP-79483 is only 4″. Can the medallion be cut or can you place the fixtures cap over the part of the medallion that is next to the hole? It would have to go over about 1/2 inch on each side of the hole.
Answer:
Unfortunately, the size of the opening in this ceiling medallion is fixed and cannot be altered. A canopy cannot be placed over an opening that isn’t the same size. It would not allow you to mount your lighting fixture and compromise the electrical connections.
