Both Diffuser and Soft Focus lenses do the same thing (spread out the light), but the soft focus lens has smaller prismatic reflectors than the diffuser, with the intent of softening the diffused light more than the standard diffuser. From my customer feedback, the "diffuser" lens seems to spread the light more evenly than the soft focus lens.

  • Diffuser lenses diffuses the beam
  • Linear spread lenses elongate it (for lighting an artwork)
  • Soft focus reduce lamp glare and blur the sharp lines of lamp images
